 Introduction Minimize

The Southern Africa Lusophone Team ("SALT") (Lusophone = Portuguese speaking) is based in Mozambique.   SALT is committed to Leadership Training/Leadership Development and saturating a healthy church plant movement in the Portuguese speaking countries in Africa.  This is done through informal pastoral/leadership conferences, workshops and training which seeks to motivate and mobilize national pastors and leaders. These training events take places in the towns/cities from where invitations originate and normally last three days.   They consist of lectures, interaction and discussions.  Part of this process also involves one-day, pastors-only interaction meetings, which are called "Pastors Institutes".  These provide a forum for pastors to interact with other pastors on their needs and limitations in ministry.

We are also committed to support and encourage leaders of theological institutions, whether through teaching intensive courses in different seminaries or promoting networking with other institutions for crosspolinization of ideas, strategies, curriculum, and promoting cooperation among them.  We believe that better theological institutions make better training for pastors within the country.

Finally, we are committed to the production of culturally relevant, theological literature in partnership with other like-minded organizations within the country.  As part of this committment, we produce a small journal called "Pastoral Leadership" to facilitate training and mobilization of lay leadership as well as pastors with no theological training.

Our vision is that every single neighborhood of Mozambique have the presence of a healthy local church that becomes the beacon of hope for that community as the Gospel is lived in a vibrant way by every member of that congregation.
