John and Heather Witherow joined the SART team in February 2006. John and Heather pursued full-time ministry work in order to grow in their relationship in Christ, to learn, and to have fun! In South Africa, they can do just that! From learning language and culture, to finding ways to build bridges of restoration and hope between people, to observing a family of elephants finding some food in the wild, their life is one big, Southern Africa adventure!
Gathering strategic information to equip the body of Christ is John’s main interest and passion. He serves as a research coordinator for the team in present and future projects in South Africa, Swaziland, and Zimbabwe.
Heather is currently engaged with the care, nurture, and spiritual development of their children. In addition to this, she is involved with both women’s ministry and children’s Sunday school education projects.
John and Heather have three sons, Micah, Jake, and Caleb. The Witherows love outdoor activities and playing together as a family. South African weather is spectacular and the boys are outside nearly every day finding many ways to have fun!
