Jay and Sarah Gerhart have been in South Africa since 1998 with their boys, Thomas Graham and Samuel. The Gerharts enjoy the outdoors, a good game of tennis and the men are all committed scouts. Sarah, who in spite of being a mom with a full plate, stays fit and keeps in touch with many near and far.

Jay and Sarah’s passion is the wholistic discipling of nations and empowering people to fulfil their potential. They are consultants and teachers for local churches. Jay is passionate about training ministry and lay leaders to think biblically and live out of a Biblical world view. Jay mentors several young men and assists some of the Braamfischerville community leaders. Sarah loves to mentor and disciple women. Sarah is involved in intercessory prayer projects, and serves on The King’s School, Robin Hills board.

The Gerharts offer strong teaching gifts to the church in southern Africa. Jay has a deep conviction to teach Biblical thinking and world view. Sarah loves to teach on discipleship issues. Jay and Sarah help propel congregations and individuals forward in their pursuit of the Kingdom. They are well equipped to consult in the area of community development.

The Soweto Sewing Company: After several years of thought and prayer, Sarah was able to assist women in Braamfischerville to start up their own sewing business. The focus was on women from homes with no breadwinners, and the idea was to create jobs which would be both creative and self sustaining.
