John and Heather Witherow and their three boys, Micah, Jake and Caleb are excited to be serving with OC Africa since 2006.

John coordinates OC Africa’s training, networking and relief programs in Zimbabwe. He is also serves as OC Africa’s coordinator of Future Shift which focuses upon the development of healthy churches and ministry leaders in southern Africa. John is excited about helping pastors and ministry leaders grow and develop in Christ.

Heather mentors and trains teachers in informal settlements; such as Finetown, South Africa. She provides primary teacher staff development in rural Zimbabwe. Helping teachers improve their instruction techniques, enhance their classroom management skills, and motivate them to instill a love of life-long learning in their students is Heather’s passion.

The Witherows love to encourage, mentor, and pray for the ministry leaders in their walk with Christ. Whether it be teaching and training at a workshop, or meeting a ministry leader one-on-one, the Witherows are passionate about helping the people of Southern Africa grow stronger in their relationship with the LORD.

Through FutureShift, John coaches, facilitates and helps promote positive change in church and ministry leaders and their congregations. John meets with churches to coach them through a change process; leading to church health and church growth.

Heather is the OC Africa coordinator of preschool and primary teacher staff development in informal settlements and rural areas in southern Africa. Currently, Heather is teaching in Finetown, South Africa.
