OC Africa is committed to making disciples as Jesus Christ commanded in Matthew 28:19.
Jesus said, “Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”
Jesus engaged with his disciples in an intimate and engaging way. He knew each of his disciples well and cultivated a dynamic and responsive relationship with them. Each disciple was valued by Jesus Christ and as a result each disciple desired to grow in their relationship with Him.
OC Africa, along with their partners in southern Africa’s Discipleship Making Movement believe that the gospel of Jesus Christ advances most effectively through person to person movements. When someone is known and valued and engaged with in a committed and honourable way, opportunities arise to share the gospel in meaningful ways. Modeling how to follow Christ in an ever-changing, unpredictable world is presented in practical, one-on-one settings. Barnabas, a disciple of Jesus Christ, was most effective when he came alongside others as an encourager. He listened to their stories and then responded with practical guidance and steadfast company.
OC Africa inspires and equips people to share the gospel in ways that lead to such disciple-making movements.
The world is rapidly changing in a variety of ways. Urban centers are growing as more people move to them for career opportunities. Less people are being attracted to traditional church models. Neighbors do not know each other. Social media does not allow for meaningful, face to face engagement.
OC Africa offers meaningful strategies to engage with others to share Christ and transform southern Africa with the truth, grace, and love of the gospel of Jesus Christ through person-to-person exchanges.
